Well done to the hundreds of amazing Cambridgeshire people who completed the Lode Half Marathon and Family Fun Run, generating more than £6,000 for charitable causes – congratulations to you all on such a great achievement!
This year’s event raised money for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) Brain Tumour Research Fund in memory of Edward Shrubbs, who was one of the founder members of the Lode Half Marathon back in 2011 and had been involved in the organisation every year since.
“It was a huge success, and raised a great deal of money in memory of a key member of the community,” said Dee Copping on behalf of the Event Committee. “I would like to say thank you very much to Laragh for all your hard work in getting the medals and trophies to us. With Laragh’s help, we raised an amazing £6,000 for Brain Tumour Research in Edward Shrubbs’ name and a few hundred pounds more for the local Red2Green Charity. “We were delighted that the event was a great success. It was not only ‘sold out’ well before race day but also enjoyed by a wonderful group of locals, supporters and stewards who all paid tribute and shared fond memories of Edward. Thank you for supporting us!”
